Oil Spill Science Symposium highlights need for ocean observing system in the Gulf of Mexico

On June 3, the Consortium of Ocean Leadership hosted a symposium on the science needs related to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.   One of the major conclusions was: "There was also concurrence for the need for a comprehensive Gulf of Mexico ocean observing system that includes a rigorous data management system."
